Romano gives latest Amrabat to Man Utd news as Fiorentina deadline passes
Football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has updated fans on Manchester United’s hopes of landing Sofyan Amrabat.
Erik ten Hag’s side have been chasing the Morocco World Cup star for months but have made little progress towards a deal with less than a week of the transfer window now remaining.

The Fiorentina star has made it clear that he wants to move to the Red Devils, but a deadline of Friday imposed by the Serie A club for this transfer to be struck has now passed without a deal being completed.
So what happens now?

According to Romano, not too much has changed.
He took to Twitter to report: “Sofyan Amrabat, not part of Fiorentina squad as he has decided to wait for a move until the end of the window; Manchester United, priority since end of June.
“No official bid from Man Utd to Fiorentina yet. United are informed on deal conditions but waiting on outgoings.”
In addition to this, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who noted that Liverpool still hold an interest in the player, told Sky Sports: “He is for sale under the right conditions.”
Man Utd could sign Amrabat swiftly
Although the frustrating holding pattern for Amrabat remains in place, Man Utd are in position to complete a deal very quickly should they raise the funds for a move.
Personal terms have been agreed with the Morocco international for close to a month, so a deal should be smooth if they can come to an accord with Fiorentina over a transfer fee.
In order to raise the money to sign Amrabat, Man Utd are leaning on the sales of players like Scott McTominay and Donny van der Beek, while Ten Hag is also keeping a close eye on Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo, who could reinforce the defence if Harry Maguire is finally sold.
