Romano confirms Osimhen bid as Chelsea ‘make progress’ in talks
Fabrizio Romano reports that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has been subject to an official bid as he continues to be chased by Chelsea.
Osimhen remains stuck with the Serie A club, who have been adamant that any buyers pay his release clause of €130 million.
Although the 25-year-old Nigeria international star has agreed personal terms with PSG, this massive transfer demand has proven a decisive obstacle to a deal. Chelsea and Arsenal have both been put off by this figure, not even getting as close as having contract talks with the striker.

Romano reports, however, that a bid from the Saudi Pro League has arrived at Napoli’s door. It is unlikely to be one that impresses the Serie A club, though.
Taking to X, he reports: “Al Ahli have submitted initial bid to Napoli for Victor Osimhen for package in excess of €65m.
“Napoli are prepared to let him go but NO agreement between the Nigerian striker and Al Ahli so far.
“Deal still far on the player's side, Osimhen will consider options and not open to loan.”

Chelsea nearer to Osimhen agreement
Ben Jacobs says that Osimhen remains on the Stamford Bridge club’s radar and that “progress” is being made with talks.
“Chelsea's priority in the final days of the window is a striker, with Victor Osimhen not yet ruled out,” he says on X.
“Understand Chelsea and Napoli have made some progress on a proposed structure in the last few days. Chelsea won't proceed unless terms become more favourable.
“Chelsea are prepared to make Osimhen a top earner, but he must fit into the wage structure meaning a lower base in non-Champions League seasons.
“Several outgoings expected between now and August 30. Chelsea will present offers to Raheem Sterling this week. Priority is to get his wage off the books.”
Napoli claimed a 3-0 win over Bologna in Serie A on Sunday, with Osimhen not even training with Antonio Conte’s squad at present.
