REVEALED: The crazy €50m clause in Osimhen's new contract
Chelsea transfer target Victor Osimhen's proposed new contract with Al-Ahli will have a €50 million release clause with a very interesting twist.
After a summer of being pursued by Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen appears to be on the verge of signing for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli.
And while Osimhen may be reluctant to leave Europe, The Royals have offered to include a release clause of just €50m in his new contract. This way, it will be eminently possible for a European heavyweight to sign Osimhen and bring him back into the fold.

A €50m release clause, with a twist!
In order to maximise value for themselves and ensure that Osimhen doesn't leave as soon as possible in the January transfer window, Gianluigi Longari reports that Osimhen's release clause will only be activated after two seasons.
This means Osimhen will have to spend all of 2024/25 and 2025/26 playing for Al-Ahli before a side can sign him for the relatively cheap price of €50m.
By that time he will be 27, so as long as he stays clear of injury and keeps on scoring goals it would be a reasonable fee. And if a club is particularly desperate they can always pay over the odds to try and sign him sooner.

Chelsea remain in talks to sign Osimhen, and a move to Stamford Bridge could still happen if the Blues are able to finalise an agreement with Napoli and the player.
If not, Osimhen appears likely to join Al-Ahli.
Osimhen and Al-Ahli: a fantastic fit
Given Al-Ahli finished third in the league last year, after scoring 34 fewer goals than champions Al-Hilal, one suspects they will be keen to have Osimhen on their books for as long as possible to fire them into title contention.
After all, Osimhen has been tearing up Serie A for Napoli, winning the title in 2022/23 and finishing that season as Capocannoniere (top scorer) with 26 goals.
Given the lower level of the Pro League, as well as the presence of Riyad Mahrez (a league-high 13 assists last season without an elite striker), it seems likely that Osimhen will tear through defences in Saudi.
He could be so dominant that he will probably end the season as the division's top scorer ahead of the likes of Al-Nassr's Cristiano Ronaldo and Al-Hilal's Aleksandar Mitrovic.
