Juventus to TERMINATE Pogba's contract - Romano

Juventus and Paul Pogba are set to mutually agree to terminate his contract in Turin, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The ex-France international has seen his doping ban reduced from four years to just 18 months and he will return to competitive action in March 2025.

Pogba tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) - a banned substance that can raise testosterone levels - after Juventus’ win over Udinese in August 2023 and after a second test also came back positive, he received a four-year footballing ban.

However, CAS have confirmed that his ban has been significantly reduced, with Pogba able to return to training in January before being available for match selection in March.

Despite this, the Frenchman’s contract at Juventus is set to be terminated, and he will not play for the Italian giants again.

Transfer expert Romano posted on X: “Paul Pogba and Juventus, expected to agree on contract termination as he will become a free agent.

“Talks to follow from tomorrow after CAS verdict, as Paul will be available from March.

“Paul Pogba also feels a fresh start would be [the] best solution for him and his career.”

Who will Paul Pogba join?

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move to the MLS since news of his ban reduction, while Saudi Pro League clubs were reportedly interested before his positive drugs test.

The ex-Manchester United midfielder has around 18 months left on his current deal with Juventus, but the Serie A giants are set to release him following the summer arrivals of Douglas Luiz, Khephren Thuram and Teun Koopmeiners.

Pogba re-joined Juventus in 2022 after his contract at Man Utd expired, but he has only racked up 12 appearances and 213 minutes of action following his return, due to injury problems and his positive drugs test.
