'Two offers' - 48-year-old Totti doubles down on Serie A return ambition
AS Roma legend Francesco Totti has doubled down on his bizarre claims that he is considering returning to Serie A. As a player. At 48 years of age.
The legendary former forward enjoyed an illustrious career as one of the game's great one-club men, playing a whopping 619 games for Roma in which he scored 250 goals.
Totti played top-flight football until the age of 40, an age at which most players have long since called it day. Eight years on, the Italian could make his comeback, or so he claims.

Last week, the 48-year-old raised eyebrows when he claimed that he was thinking about returning to the pitch. "Some Serie A teams have contacted me. I admit that they made me think a little, a little crazy. It would be difficult, but in life, you never say never.
"There are players who have played many years after the end of their career. It also depends on where you play, with all due respect, but if I were to return to Serie A I would have to train really well."

Totti doubles down
Now, the former Roma captain has doubled down on his comments, insisting that he has received two genuine offers. Speaking at the EA7 World Legends Padel Tour, Totti made it clear that he was not joking with his initial statement.
"Will you see me first on the field for the World Legends Padel Tour finals or first on the field in Serie A? What a question! Let's say I have time to play the Padel finals, they are at the end of November. At least two months of training are needed, that's the time," he began.

"No, it's not a joke. I took it a bit seriously, so let's see. There are one or two teams. Let's see what my head tells me, but above all my body. Let's see how it reacts. My head already knows the answer. Who knows what next year will bring us."
