Lampard in line for SHOCK return to management
Frank Lampard is being lined up as a possible replacement for Ivan Juric at AS Roma, according to shock reports from Italy.
The Chelsea legend has been out of work since leaving his role as interim manager at Stamford Bridge in June 2023, but he has been named on Roma’s shortlist of potential options to succeed Juric.
That is according to Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Paulo Sousa, Graham Potter, Massimiliano Allegri, Roberto Mancini and Maurizio Sarri are also contenders to take over at the Stadio Olimpico.

In addition, several players are reportedly demanding the return of Daniele De Rossi, but Roma’s owners are unwilling to re-appoint the 41-year-old less than two months after firing him.
Roma suffered a surprise 3-2 defeat to Hellas Verona on Sunday, and the result means they are currently 11th in the Serie A table, having amassed just 13 points from their opening 11 league matches.
The aforementioned Sousa is reportedly the current favourite to replace Juric, but Lampard has been shortlisted as an alternative option, despite his underwhelming managerial record.

Frank Lampard’s managerial record
The 46-year-old enjoyed a fairly successful first season in management at Derby County, but he ultimately failed to guide them to promotion despite having players such as Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Harry Wilson at his disposal.
He was then appointed as Sarri’s replacement at Chelsea and Lampard impressively guided the Blues to Champions League qualification, despite receiving a transfer ban ahead of the campaign.
However, things took a turn for the worse during his second season in the Stamford Bridge dugout and the Chelsea legend was sacked in January 2021.
After a year out of the game, Lampard was appointed as Everton manager in January 2022, but he was sacked 12 months later, having only won 12 of his 44 games in charge.
He returned to Chelsea in an interim capacity following the sacking of Potter in March 2023, however Lampard lost eight of his 11 matches at the helm and was swiftly replaced by Mauricio Pochettino that summer.
