EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle show interest in Ramos
Newcastle are looking at Goncalo Ramos of Benfica, FootballTransfers can reveal.
We have been told that the Benfica striker is one they’re looking at as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his frontline, though it's not clear whether a move will be made this window or not.
We were informed that Newcastle had been scouring Portugal for fresh blood while it emerged that Goncalo Inacio was one that the Magpies liked, as reported by AS.
Sources have now told us that Ramos is another who is admired by the Newcastle recruitment team.
Ramos was linked with a move to St James’ Park last year but a move never materialised.

Ramos has a huge release clause worth €120 million but it's possible groundwork may be getting put in over a possible in the following window.
The Portugal international is also admired by Man Utd and Erik ten Hag but the ongoing takeover saga has put a stop to the club making huge signings just yet.
Newcastle have already brought in Sandro Tonali for £70m as they begin next year in the Champions League.
It comes after the news that Newcastle are in advanced talks with relegated Southampton over a potential £15 million deal for Tino Livramento.
The 20-year-old former Chelsea player is liked by Howe as he can play both sides of the pitch as a full-back.
Livramento is one of a few Southampton players set to leave the side this summer.
