Cristiano Ronaldo buys €50m private jet
Cristiano Ronaldo has recently completed the lavish purchase of a €50 million private jet.
Ronaldo, who is currently under contract with Al-Nassr, has achieved legendary status in a career that has seen him star at Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus before moving to the Saudi Pro League.
His contracts reflect the heights the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has achieved, with his latest deal with Al-Nassr reportedly worth a staggering €200 million per year – the richest salary in sport.
Ronaldo can, therefore, make some lavish purchases, with Marca reporting that the latest of these has been a customised private jet worth €50m.
This is not the first time that Ronaldo has owned such a plane. He is reputed to have sold a Gulfstream G2000 for €20m just a few months ago.
What private jet does Ronaldo own?
Ronaldo now owns a Bombardier Global Express 6500, which he has customised.
He has already used the black aircraft to transport his family from Saudi Arabia to Lapland on holiday and back again.
Marca has detailed the specifications of the new plane, stating: “With a capacity for 17 passengers, this vehicle features the latest individual seats with maximum comfort and high armrests. The cabin has spaces with tables, sofas or work areas.
“This model also offers a private suite and another with a separate shower.
“On the outside, the access doors are clearly linked to the figure of the Portuguese player, as the logo and silhouette of the footballer celebrating a goal with his characteristic pose appear.”
While these aircraft typically retail on the second-hand market for something in the region of €40m, Ronaldo’s desire to customise his plane has added another €10m onto the price tag.
What next for Ronaldo?
Could this purchase be the latest hint that Ronaldo is about to sign a lucrative new deal with Al-Nassr as he chases the incredible feat of scoring 1000 career goals?
Previously, the Saudi Pro League side hinted at this possibility with a social media video praising the Portuguese star, while Ronaldo, who is out of contract in June, reciprocated by professing his love of the country.
