Manchester United have knocked back multiple transfer bids for striker Mason Greenwood, who is a player now more committed to the club than ever, according to reports.

Greenwood is presently out of the picture at Old Trafford after criminal charges placed against the 21-year-old for attempted rape, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour were dropped. The club, though, is conducting its own investigation into the forward’s private life.

As such, it is uncertain whether the England international will even play for Man Utd again – but there has been interest in the player.

The Athletic confirms: “United have rejected offers from Turkish sides as the club’s internal investigation continues.”

'Greenwood would run through a brick wall for Man Utd'

The report also goes on to suggest that Greenwood has “changed” because of the experience that he has had since January 2022.

“He would run through a brick wall to be back playing for United now,” an unnamed source claimed.

Nevertheless, the doubts over Greenwood’s future will continue to persist, with Manchester United reportedly under pressure from sponsors who have “privately expressed concerns about a return”. Equally, The Athletic had previously outlined that certain members of Manchester United Women are “deeply uncomfortable” with the player ever representing the club again.

Previously, there had been speculation that he might move to China to get away from the media spotlight.

A representative for Greenwood, however, says the player has the resolve to face the challenges of continuing his professional career closer to home.

“There’s no real substance to any of this, it being a mix of old news, speculation, half-truths and completely untrue claims. Mason is 21, he has been cleared and should be allowed the opportunity to rebuild and move forward with his young life,” they said.

Greenwood last played for Man Utd on 22 January, 2022 in a 1-0 win over West Ham.
