Victor Osimhen makes HUGE Puskas claim
Victor Osimhen believes his bicycle kick against Antalyaspor on Saturday deserves to be nominated for the Puskas Award.
The Nigeria international marked his return from injury with a stunning goal off the bench as Galatasaray maintained their unbeaten start to the 2024-25 Super Lig campaign.
Mauro Icardi grabbed a brace during the game, before Osimhen put the finishing touches on a 3-0 victory with a sublime strike in the 92nd minute.

After a poor headed clearance, the ball fell to Osimhen inside the Antalyaspor penalty area and with his back to goal, the Nigerian slammed the ball into the roof of the net with a fantastic bicycle kick.
The 25-year-old now has three goals and three assists in just five Galatasaray appearances, following an impressive start to life in Turkey after his failed summer move to Chelsea.

What has Victor Osimhen said?
Following Galatasaray’s win over Antalyaspor, Osimhen told reporters: “The goal was an incredible one. We got three points from here, I am very happy for that. I dedicate this goal to our coach, today is his birthday.
“When we look at the first-half, we were not that good. We took the lead thanks to the goals scored by Mauro [Icardi] and we were able to play much better in the second-half.
“We had a four-day holiday and as a result we rested well, now we will continue in the same way.
“The first goal was normal, but it was not normal for the second goal not to count. These things are part of football. What is important here is for us to get three points as a team and to progress well.”
Osimhen was then asked whether his goal should be nominated for the 2024-25 Puskas Award. “Of course it could be,” he replied.
“It was an incredible goal. It's a classy goal, why not, it could be.”
