Ronaldo claims Premier League Player of the Month award for September
Manchester United’s latest signing Cristiano Ronaldo has been confirmed as the Premier League Player of the Month for September.
The Portugal international returned to Old Trafford in emphatic style this season, with two goals against Newcastle United and a third against West Ham eight days later.
As such, Ronaldo bagged three goals in three games over the course of the month and that seemingly deemed him the best player in the division for the month of September.
Despite the player’s long and successful history at Man Utd, this is only the fifth time that Ronaldo has won the award, with his previous four coming in November 2006, December 2006, January 2008 and March 2008.
As such, this most recent award could be seen as further proof of Ronaldo’s continued form at the highest level and vindication for Man Utd signing him in the summer transfer window.

How good has Ronaldo been at Man Utd?
On paper, there’s little doubt that Ronaldo has been a success since he made the move back to Man Utd this season.
In his first six games for the club in all competitions, the Portugal international has bagged no less than five goals - including a match winner against Villarreal in the Champions League.
However, the forward’s goals have done little to alleviate concerns over the squad’s overall form, as Man Utd have continued to drop points in the Premier League and look as vulnerable as ever in Europe.
As such, despite his remarkable ability to put the ball in the back of the net, some fans fear placing Ronaldo up front may compromise Man Utd’s ability to close down opponents and really apply the kind of pressure top teams need to beat smaller sides in the Premier League and in Europe.
