FootballTransfers' transfer valuations are calculated in collaboration with SciSports, a world-leading football analytics agency that assesses the relative transfer valuations of over 60,000 professional footballers worldwide. SciSports use multiple data points including current and potential ability, contract length, form, age, and other crucial factors.

The Bayern Munich forward continues to smash goalscoring records in Germany and remains one of the most prolific goalscoring strikers in the world.

In the 2021/22 season alone,Lewandowski has scored no less than 49 goals in 44 games in all competitions, and holds a value of €48.8m.

Lionel Messi has been knocked off top spot recently, as his value has dropped to €42.8m, which puts him fourth on the list.

The Paris Saint-Germain superstar won a record seventh Ballon d'Or last year and is currently in the first season of his career which has not been spent in Spain with Barcelona.

Though critics questioned whether Messi actually deserved that individual award, he unquestionably remains one of the greatest players in the world despite his advancing years and slightly disappointing season at PSG.

REVEALED: The world's most valuable footballers

Thomas Muller and Riyad Mahrez are both ahead of Messi in our list. Muller is the second highest valued over 30 year-old in football at €47.7m, meaning it's a Bayern one-two. Muller has hit the 20-assist mark in each of the past three Bundesliga campaigns to confirm his status as Europe's best creator.

Mahrez, on the other hand, has experienced a stellar campaign at Man City and remains a key member of Pep Guardiola's squad.

In fifth place sits Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann who is on loan from Barcelona. The Frenchman is valued at €38.5m. Another forward is in sixth, with Lazio star Ciro Immobile holding that place. Although his form for the Italian national team has been questionable, he has been electric at club level throughout his career. His value is €34.5m.

Toni Kroos has often been substituted for Real Madrid in their Champions League run this season, but the German still maintains an impressive valuation of €30.8m at 32 years old.

Cristiano Ronaldo has carried Manchester United at times this season and despite the team's struggles he's still netted over 20 goals in all competitions. His value is currently €30.4m.

Another Man City player is ninth in midfielder Ilkay Gundogan at €30.1m. Real Madrid's Champions league hero Karim Benzema rounds off the list in 10th place with a valuation of €30m.

However, that's due to his age and the fact his contract is set to expire in 2023. If he renews his deal at the Santiago Bernabeu then his value will rise sharply.
