The Portuguese superstar has cut a frustrated figure at Old Trafford this season following his emotional return in the summer.

Though on an individual level he has performed well, scoring 14 goals in 18 starts in all competitions, Man Utd as a whole have been disappointing.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already been sacked and replaced by Ralf Rangnick, who has oversaw a couple of questionable performances even if the club remains unbeaten in his tenure.

In a recent draw against Newcastle in particular, Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes were called out for their attitude by former Man Utd player Gary Neville, who said:

“We talk about body language. We talked about it earlier in the season when Ronaldo ran off at the end of the Everton game. He's run off again tonight.

“He ran off at Watford, when everyone knew the manager was going to get the sack. And at Norwich.

“And there's Bruno Fernandes' whinging too. They're the two senior players. It's devastating for younger players when the two best players are looking at every other player like they're not good enough.”

Ronaldo happy at Man Utd

Speculation has mounted in recent weeks that Ronaldo might not be happy at the club, with a return to Real Madrid and an unlikely transfer to Barcelona mentioned.

But, Mendes says his client is content.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is very happy at Manchester United,” Mendes told Sky Sports Italia.

“He’s going to continue with his solid, great performances as always in his career.

“It’s going be a great season for him, I’m sure.”

Man Utd are currently sixth in the Premier League table, four points adrift of the top four.
