Man Utd seeking to sell at least two players in January, Solskjaer confirms
Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the club are looking to move on Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero in the January transfer window.
Both Rojo and Romero have barely played over the past year and under Solskjaer in general, with the latter becoming the third-choice goalkeeper after Dean Henderson returned from his loan spell at Sheffield Utd.
The Norwegian confirmed that no new contracts would be presented to the pair, but that they would hopefully be moved on before the expiration of their deals in the summer.
“Both of them have contracts until the summer and they’re not gonna be extended, we’re looking for them to find clubs,” Solskjaer told the press on Friday.
Both have been linked with a return to Argentina with Boca Juniors.
Another player who has found himself on the periphery of things at Man Utd is striker Odion Ighalo, who joined on loan in a surprise move last January.
His current loan deal ends at the end of this month, but Solskjaer has praised his professionalism despite the lack of game time, and suggestion he will be involved in Man Utd’s upcoming FA Cup fixture against Watford.
“He’s been training really well, was the top scorer in training today,” he revealed.
“Been difficult for him to be out of the squad as many times because he did really well up until the summer. Has not let himself down as a professional and a human being.”
“I don’t know how many goals he scored today but he was, by a mile, the top scorer in the round-robin we just finished in training, so he’s not lost any of his sharpness or his quality.”
