Tuchel waiting in the wings with Lampard under pressure at Chelsea
Frank Lampard’s position as Chelsea manager is under increased threat following Tuesday evening’s 2-0 defeat at Leicester.
That leaves them eighth in the Premier League, five points short of a vitally important place in the Champions League qualification spots.
After overseeing a £220m spending spree last summer, it was hoped that Lampard could turn his team from top-four finishers into title contenders this term.
But, with scant evidence thus far that such a transformation has taken place, the Englishman is finding his job security coming into question.

It was revealed earlier this week that the Chelsea hierarchy have already settled on appointing a German-speaking manager after Lampard.
The need to reinvigorate Kai Havertz and Timo Werner after poor starts to their Stamford Bridge careers and the hope of finding the next Jurgen Klopp are thought to be behind that desire.
And it seems the Blues may have sounded out such a replacement for the current incumbent in Thomas Tuchel.
Sacked by Paris Saint-Germain over the Christmas period, the 47-year-old is thought to be keen on bringing his skills to the Premier League next.
He would certainly fit the bill at Chelsea thanks to his trophy-winning record, language skills and reputation for an exciting brand of football.
And the odds on his appointment have shortened significantly since Tuesday evening’s disappointment at the King Power Stadium.
Lampard will find little comfort in the fact a potentially ideal replacement is waiting in the wings as his reign stutters on.
