Aaron Ramsey commits his future to Aston Villa after agreeing deal
Aaron Ramsey has signed his first professional contract with Aston Villa, putting pen to paper on a new deal.
The midfielder has impressed the Aston Villa hierarchy this season with some eye-catching performances, and will hope to break into the first-team set-up in the Premier League in the not too distant future.
Ramsey’s older brother Jacob has broken into the first-team this season with 13 Premier League appearances to his name, and 18-year-old will be aiming to follow in his brother’s footsteps by making a dent into the first-team.
From central midfield Ramsey has scored six goals in 14 Premier League 2 appearances this term, and has appeared in two of the club’s EFL Trophy matches this season.
He has impressed for the U23s and academy manager Mark Harrison is “delighted Aaron has signed his first professional contract having registered with the club as an Under-9.
“Aaron has become a regular in the U23s team as well as being somebody who has captained England at youth level. He has also recently been training with the first team on a regular basis.
“It is great reward and recognition for all his hard work throughout his journey so far, as well as being a special day for his family and many of the Academy staff who, over the years, have been fantastic in supporting Aaron.
“We really look forward to seeing how he develops over the next few years.”
Juventus to Aston Villa?
Not to be confused with Juventus and Wales star and his name sake Aaron Ramsey, the Aston Villa youngster will have a struggled to break into the senior side with: Douglas Luiz, Marvelous Nakamba, John McGinn, Ross Barkley, Morgan Sanson and his older brother Jacob the current options for Dean Smith in midfield, but at just 18, he’s got a long future ahead.
