Former Liverpool star hints at return to crisis-hit club
Southampton striker Danny Ings has hinted that he would like to return to former club Liverpool.
The 28-year-old spent three years with the Reds from 2015 to 2018 but featured sparingly after suffering two serious injuries.
He made only 14 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals, before returning to his boyhood club Southampton.
Ings has been a revelation at St Mary’s Stadium, scoring 42 goals in two-and-a-half seasons.
He even returned to the England squad this season, scoring in the 3-0 win over Wales.
His form has led to talk that he could join a big club again this summer, with Ings holding off on signing a contract extension with Southampton.
And he has now hinted that he would be interested in returning to Liverpool.

“My favourite occasions are at Anfield on a Champions League night,” Ings stated.
“The atmosphere there was crazy. I have never experienced an atmosphere like Anfield on a Champions League night.”
However, were he to join Liverpool, Champions League football would be no guarantee next season.
The Reds are on a dismal run of form as they attempt to defend their Premier League title.
