Billionaire Spotify CEO Daniel Ek admits interest in buying Arsenal from Kroenke
Spotify CEO Daniel Ek has admitted that he holds an interest in buying Premier League club Arsenal.
The Gunners have been thrown into a crisis of governance over the course of the last week following Stan Kroenke’s desire to put the club in a European Super League.

Ultimately, Arsenal, along with the other five prospective clubs from the Premier League, were forced to back down, but Kroenke has lost more respect from the fans, several hundred of whom protested against his ownership prior to the Gunners’ 1-0 home loss against Everton on Friday.
Indeed, as well as overseeing Arsenal’s Super League entry, Kroenke has enjoyed little success on the footballing side of things.

The Gunners are presently rooted in ninth in the Premier League standings, with their sole hopes of returning to Europe next season apparently lying with the Europa League.
A power vacuum could potential emerge and Ek admits that he is an interested party if the club goes up for sale.
Ek offers to ‘throw his hat in the ring’
“As a kid growing up, I’ve cheered for Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring,” he said, tagging the Gunners in his tweet.

The fall out from the Super League has caused ructions at virtually every club that initially entered, though these have been particularly prominent in England, where the Premier League teams generally have greater financial security than the six continental clubs that had expressed their interest in the competition.
Kroenke, meanwhile, may be under pressure, but there has been no indication thus far that he intends to give up a stake in the club, which he successfully bought outright in August 2018.
