Aguero’s former team-mate believes the Man City star will join Barcelona
Sergio Aguero could join Barcelona when his Manchester City contract expires this summer, according to former team-mate Pablo Zabaleta.
Last month it was announced that the Argentine would not be receiving an extended contract with the Premier League giants, opening him up to a free transfer in July.

The prolific forward has been with the Premier League giants for a decade, and has played an instrumental part in them becoming a major force at home and in Europe, scoring the goal to win their first ever Premier League title in 2012.
However, injuries have ravaged his career over the past 18 months, and with just seven starts in all competitions under his belt in 2020/21, City and Aguero have decided to mutually part ways.
With that news came speculation about where Aguero could end up, with reports emerging linking him to Barcelona, Chelsea, and Inter.
Aguero at Barcelona?
Zabaleta, who was Aguero’s team-mate at both Man City and the Argentina national team, believes Camp Nou is in Kun’s future.
“I see him at Barcelona,” he told Cadena Ser, as reported by Sport.
“I’m sure that as soon as he gets better, he’ll be the player we’ve seen for years.
“If he can be physically fit and not have injuries that prevent him from being consistent during the season, he can still have at least two good years left in him.”
One potential card that Barcelona have to play in any play for Aguero is that the player is close friends with captain Lionel Messi.
Not only would pairing them together help to bring Aguero to the club, but it could convince the Barcelona star to stay.
