Chelsea star Tomori set to complete €28.5m Milan move

Tomori joined the Rossoneri on loan from Chelsea in January, with an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

The defender enjoyed an outstanding second half to the Serie A campaign for Stefano Pioli’s men, quickly establishing himself as an important member of the first team.
He pushed Alessio Romagnoli out of the starting XI and formed an excellent partnership with Simon Kjaer at the heart of Milan’s defence.
His performances helped Milan qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 2013-14.
And now Tomori is set to make his loan move permanent, with the transfer potentially being confirmed before the start of Euro 2020.
How much will Milan pay Chelsea for Tomori?
The transfer fee is expected to be around €28.5 million, although Milan have been trying to negotiate a lower price or a formula that will see their payments spread out more.
Tomori will sign a five-year contract in Italy's fashion capital.
Tomori made 22 appearances for Milan this year, scoring one goal.
This was a memorable header in the emphatic 3-0 win over Juventus in Turin towards the end of the campaign.
Tomori's Chelsea career
News of his imminent move to Milan has not gone down well with Chelsea fans, many of whom consider him the best central defender at the club after the veteran Thiago Silva.
Tomori grew up in the Chelsea youth academy, making his debut as a teenager in the 2015-16 season.
He had a successful loan spell under Frank Lampard at Derby in 2018-19 and then was rotated by the same manager at Chelsea the following campaign.
However, this past season he failed to receive many first-team chances under Lampard at Chelsea and this paved the way to his loan move to Milan in January.
