How much will Jadon Sancho earn at Man Utd?
Manchester United are set to make Jadon Sancho one of the club’s three highest earners.
The Premier League side’s long pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund winger finally appears to be nearing a conclusion.
And details of the contract he is set to sign have been revealed while Sancho is with the England camp at Euro 2020.
The Mirror report the deal Sancho is poised to sign at Old Trafford will be a five-year contract.
Sancho, 21, is set to be handed a huge wage packet of £250,000-per-week.
That will immediately propel him above the likes of club captain Harry Maguire (£190k) and star player Bruno Fernandes (£180k).
Fellow forwards Edinson Cavani (£210k) and Marcus Rashford (£200k) would also be behind the new arrival on the United wage bill.
Sancho’s deal would bring him level with the huge contract that was handed to Anthony Martial when the French forward renewed terms with United in January 2019.
Martial is one of the United players who could be sold when Sancho reinforces the forward line.
Only two Man Utd players, both of whom have seen their futures subject to scrutiny, would earn more than Sancho.
They are top earner David de Gea (£375k) and midfielder Paul Pogba (£290k).
United on brink of Sancho deal
A report from Sky Sports on Saturday suggested the deal is closer than ever for Sancho and United.
United and Dortmund are said to be finalising the payment structure and potential add-ons.
A valuation of around £77 million for the move appears to be near the sweet spot that would satisfy both sides, though that is lower than the £85m Dortmund had hoped to achieve and a significant reduction on last year’s asking price.
Personal terms and Sancho’s willingness to move have never been seen as a barrier to the move, so the transfer should be swift once the clubs are in full agreement.
The contract is reportedly unlikely to be signed during the Euros but many of the terms of the deal were agreed last year, when United failed to get a deal over the line.
Sancho has so far only made one substitute appearance for England at the Euros after he scored 16 goals and added 19 assists in another productive season for Dortmund.
Neville wants Sancho deal over
Former United captain Gary Neville is finding it difficult to get excited about the latest Sancho updates.
Manchester United Closing in on Sancho
Again!
A transfer should be a joy and a moment of excitement . I’ve never been more bored by a transfer in my life to the point I feel like he’s already signed and I want to know who is next already. Not the lads fault at all I should say!— Gary Neville (@GNev2) June 26, 2021
He is so frustrated by how long it is taking for the deal to get over the line, but does not blame the player himself.
He wrote on Twitter: "Manchester United Closing in on Sancho Again!
