Haaland is arguably the hottest young property in Europe after an incredible 18 months at Dortmund.

Virtually every top club in Europe is interested in signing the 20-year-old, most notably Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Will Haaland be joining Chelsea?

Chelsea have been especially linked with making a club record bid for the Norwegian striker, with some reports saying the Blues will bid as high as €175m in order to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Haaland has now reacted to these rumours.

“Before yesterday I hadn’t talked to my agent in a month... so you tell me,” the ex-Salzburg starlet told SportBild.

“But I hope they are just rumours, as €175 million would be a lot of money for one person.

“I have three years left on my contract.

“I’m enjoying my time here.

“But of course the trophy was important because that's what I want,” Haaland concluded in reference to the DFB Pokal the club won in 2020-21.

What other strikers could Chelsea sign?

One of Chelsea’s main priorities in the summer transfer window is to sign a top-class number 9, even more so after they sold Olivier Giroud to AC Milan.

Haaland is understood to be the number one target, but Inter’s Romelu Lukaku and Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski are also high up on Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist.

It is believed that any teams interested in signing Haaland may have to wait until 2022 to get their man as Dortmund have been steadfast in their stance that they will not allow him to leave this summer.

It is widely reported that there is a clause in Haaland’s contract that is valid from the end of next season that enables the player to leave for a fee of €75m.

Haaland has scored 57 goals in 59 games since arriving at BVB from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2020.
