Revealed: Chelsea to steal Kounde for Sevilla for a bargain price
Jules Kounde’s transfer to Chelsea from Sevilla is set to ensure that the Blues finish the window with a flourish.
The Stamford Bridge side have only signed Romelu Lukaku in terms of a major investment this summer, but Kounde is set to be their second major capture.
While this is a deal that has been smouldering for weeks, it will catch light in the hours ahead.
Kounde was left out of Sevilla’s squad to face Elche in a match that finished 1-1 on Saturday, while Chelsea confirmed that Kurt Zouma has departed the club.
Upgrading Zouma for Kounde is a remarkably good piece of business, both in terms of on-field success and financial possibilities.
Chelsea sold Zouma for €35 million (£30m) . This is a fairly unremarkable piece of business given that FootballTransfers values Zouma at €34.2m.
Where the Blues are about to make a steal, though, is in the arrival of Kounde. They are pushing for a deal around the €50m mark, and while Sevilla are trying to push them higher, it seems that business will be done at that price point.
This would be a steal for Chelsea. FootballTransfers’ algorithm has calculated Kounde’s actual value to be closer to €71.5m – meaning that if he retains his value, by the time that Blues come to sell him on, he will be worth €21.5m more than they bought him for.
Chelsea have won much praise this summer for the management of their loan and academy players, which has allowed them to conduct some massive business for a minimal net spend yet getting a valuable first-team player like Kounde for around 70% of his actual value is superb work, too.
How is FootballTransfers’ valuation calculated?
Kounde’s valuation has been calculated using an algorithm that is powered by a variety of factors that include both the player’s on-field performance and those circumstances surrounding him away from the park, too.
Primarily, the transfer fee is calculated by the player’s ability. He is given a rating that is generated by using a massive array of data points. Along with the player’s age, this also helps to calculate the player’s future potential, too.
Furthermore, external circumstances are taken into account, including game time and contract length.
This shows that Chelsea will sign Kounde for a super price from Sevilla.
