Manchester United completed the signing of Sancho from the Bundesliga club for €85 million (£73m) last month.

The Old Trafford side had been courting Sancho for at least 18 months and finally signed the England winger to a contract until 2026, with the option for another year.

Sancho and Haaland’s partnership

This purchase brought about an end to one of Europe’s best attacking partnerships as Sancho had linked up brilliantly with Haaland ever since the Norwegian joined Dortmund in January 2020.

In the past two seasons, Sancho made 70 starts in all competitions for BVB and scored 36 goals, recording 38 assists.

Meanwhile, Haaland has an incredible 57 goals in just 59 games for Dortmund.

And Haaland has admitted that it is a big loss for him and Dortmund seeing Sancho leave.

"Jadon and I had a really good understanding, he's a top player and it's sad he's gone, but that's football," Haaland told reporters at Dortmund's pre-season training camp.

"There are a number of other players I work well with. It can even be better. We'll just have to see who I work best with."

Sancho is due to report to Man Utd training with the rest of his new team-mates next week, with his potential debut coming in an Old Trafford friendly against Everton on August 7.

Sancho’s competitive debut for Man United could then come a week later in the opening Premier League game of the season against Leeds United at home.

The wideman had been given extra holiday after his Euro 2020 exertions, with England reaching the final of the tournament.

Sancho notoriously missed one of the penalties in the final shootout defeat to Italy.
