Manchester City remain among their highest spenders in the Premier League - but the side are starting to see a hefty return on some of their squad members.

In recent years, they broke what was then the British transfer record when they bought Jack Grealish from Aston Villa for a fee of €117 million. And the summer after came Erling Haaland, who arrived from Borussia Dortmund for €60m. The Norwegian superstar immediately broke scoring record after scoring record in his opening weeks with the club.

In 2023, they landed Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig for €90m, a world-record fee for a defender. 2024/25 was initially more low-key, with only €25m spent in the summer, but Man City then went and splurged north of €200m in January.

January 2025 was a sign of things to come, with many young players signed to replace the ageing stalwarts of previous years. Several of the latter are expected to be phased out of the club in the near future.
