Manchester United fans took to Twitter on Saturday afternoon to express their anger at another poor performance from the club.

Despite taking the lead through a first-half goal from Anthony Martial, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side then conceded an Everton equaliser in the second half and spent much of the game looking like the poorer of the two teams.

The result means that the Old Trafford side have managed to win just five of their opening 10 games in all competitions and have already been knocked out of the English League Cup.

This most recent result, for some Man Utd fans, was just the latest in a long run of unconvincing performances from the team and as such they are now calling for the club to consider new options. Such as former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane.

Could Zidane become the next Man Utd manager?

After leaving Madrid at the end of last season, Zidane seems to be taking something of a sabbatical from football management and has remained unattached to any other clubs.

Some would argue that the former midfielder is simply waiting for the right job to come along, but the French manager has often been rather aloof with his interest in management and has shown no real interest in jumping straight back into it.

Whether Man Utd could convince Zidane to return to the sidelines remains to be seen, but having never played in the Premier League or ever shown a huge amount of interest in the division, it’s hard to tell whether he would be tempted by the job.

Equally, reports in France remain convinced that the 49-year-old coach still harbours ambitions of coaching the French national team once Didier Deschamps moves on from the job or is pushed out of the role through bad results.
