Antonio Conte is the red-hot favourite to become the next Tottenham manager.
Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked following a 3-0 loss to Manchester United on Sunday, in which his side were booed and he was greeted with a rendition of ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’ by the home supporters.
Nuno had previously won the Manager of the Month award for August, but his dour style of football and failure to get positive results saw him quickly jettisoned.
It promises to be an expensive exercise for Tottenham, who are now ready to appoint former Chelsea and Juventus boss Conte in his place.

Sky Italia reports that Conte has accepted an 18-month contract to take charge at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that will see him tied with the club until June 2023.
This is a remarkable U-turn since he turned the job down in the summer, reportedly citing concerns over the club’s ability to challenge at the top of the table.
The Telegraphstates that the deal will be worth £20 million in total, which will make him one of the best paid coaches in the league. His annual salary will stand at around £13.5m.
This is actually lower than the salary that Jose Mourinho drew from the club during his time in charge, with the present Roma boss taking home a reported salary of £15m per year.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is unsurprisingly the best renumerated coach in the Premier League, boasting a salary of around £20m per year.
Coming in second is Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who reportedly scoops £16m per year.
Conte will take third place as the league’s best-paid manager.
Completing the top five are Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers (£10m per year) and Leeds United’s Marcelo Bielsa (£8m per year).
Figures for Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel vary significantly as his contract is based primarily around performance bonuses, but it is reported that he has an annual salary of £7m.
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer earns £7.5m per year and Mikel Arteta is on £5m at Arsenal.
