Dusan Vlahohic is one of the hottest properties in European football at the moment following his stellar performances for Fiorentina over the past 18 months.

A whole host of Europe’s biggest clubs are interested in signing Vlahovic. Last summer, two clubs made a bid for the Serbian. These were Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.

Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain have also made enquiries.

These clubs have been heavily linked with a move for the centre-forward in January, following a 2021/22 season that has already seen him score 16 goals in 19 games for the Viola.

Vlahovic is said to be interested in joining Tottenham as he believes that Antonio Conte is the perfect manager for him, but he is not keen on Arsenal.

Juventus also have Vlahovic on the top of their shortlist as they search for a new striker. But the Bianconeri can’t afford to pay a straight transfer fee, certainly not in January, which means they are left hoping that Vlahovic pushes to join them.

With so many clubs interested in the player, there is naturally going to be parties left disappointed when Vlahovic chooses his next team.

That has led to the need to find an alternative, and Tottenham and Juventus in particular have already allegedly found one, according to Football London.

The player they will target is Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca.

Who is Gianluca Scamacca?

While Vlahovic has been stealing plenty of headlines in Italy, Scamacca is one of the other young players impressing slightly under the radar.

The Italian turned 23 on New Year's Day, and has already had a bit of a nomadic career despite his young age.

After featuring for Lazio and Roma at youth level, he made the brave decision to move to the Netherlands with PSV in 2015.

He wouldn't make a competitive appearance in the Eredivisie, however, before returning to Italy with Sassuolo.

From there, he went out on loan to Cremonese, PEC Zwolle, Ascoli and then finally Genoa.

It was the 2020/21 season at Genoa when he came into his own, scoring eight goals in 13 starts.

He has already matched that tally in the 2021/22 campaign with Sassuolo, scoring eight goals in 12 appearances.

Scamacca is now a full international for Italy, having made his senior debut with the Azurri in September of 2021 versus Lithuania.

It is believed that he would cost around €40 million.
