Vlahovic agrees €75m Juventus move as Arsenal don’t even get a reply
Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic is set to join Juventus in January, according to multiple sources in Italy.
All of the big Italian broadcasters, including SportItalia, confirm that a deal has been agreed between Juventus and Fiorentina.
Juventus will pay Fiorentina in the region of €75 million for the Serbian, who will sign a five-year contract worth around €7m per year.
WHO ARE THE MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD?
Vlahovic rejected offers from Arsenal and Spurs in order to join Juve, with the 21-year-old’s entourage reportedly not even replying to the Gunners.
Fiorentina star Vlahovic has emerged over the past year as arguably the best young striker in world football after Erling Haaland and the hottest property on the January transfer market.
The ex-Partizan Belgrade forward is the current joint top-scorer in Serie A and only Robert Lewandowski scored more than Vlahovic’s 33 league goals in Europe’s top 10 leagues in 2021.
Juventus have been in the market for a striker this month as they have struggled terribly in front of goal since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the last days of the summer window.
The Bianconeri are the lowest scorers in the top half of Serie A and are at risk of failing to qualify for the Champions League next season.
Vlahovic rejects Arsenal move
The news of Vlahovic accepting Juventus comes as a bitter blow to Arsenal especially.
Arsenal are also in the market for a striker this month, as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been transfer listed after disciplinary problems, while Alexandre Lacazette is set to leave the club on a Bosman transfer at the end of the season.
Vlahovic had been Arsenal’s top target, with reports the Gunners were prepared to fund a €180m deal between transfer fee and wages.
Tottenham also were interested in signing Vlahovic, with transfer chief Fabio Paratici and coach Antonio Conte a big fan of the player.
