Two concrete options for Amad as Man Utd open to loan deal
Premier League giants Manchester United are preparing to loan out wonderkid Amad Diallo in the January transfer window.
Amad signed for Man Utd over a year ago for a whopping £37 million despite only playing a handful of times for Atalanta's first team.
He would not join until January of 2021, but he quickly made an impression after arriving, scoring two goals on his debut for the U-23 side in a 6-3 win against Liverpool.
Amad made his first team debut as a substitute versus Real Sociedad in the Europa League and it was in that competition he scored his first senior goal, too, as he netted a wonderfully inventive header against Milan.
FOOTBALLTRANSFERS' MOST VALUABLE PLAYERS IN THE WORLD
In the summer of 2021, he was poised to join Feyenoord on a season-long loan deal, but that move fell through and the Dutch side brought in Reiss Nelson from Arsenal instead.
Man Utd were hoping to give Amad more exposure to senior football this season via a loan move, with the Eredivisie the decided destination.
However, after an injury picked up in training, that deal was cancelled.
According to the Sun, Amad has two options so far for January.
Borussia Dortmund
German giants Dortmund are not shy when it comes to giving very young players a run in the team, as proved by the developments of Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and Giovanni Reyna.
The likelihood of Amad receiving significant minutes while at Dortmund is high which is why United would be keen for him to move to the Bundesliga.
Man Utd and Dortmund also have a recent history of doing business together via the transfers for the likes of Sancho, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Shinji Kagawa.
Derby
Another more recent option that has presented itself to Amad is to stay in England but drop down to the Championship with Derby.
The Rams are the favourites to be relegated in the English second tier currently as they only have 14 points to their name so far this campaign.
However, that is due to a significant points reduction they received earlier in the season due to previous breaches of Football League finance rules.
They are eright points adrift of safety, but Wayne Rooney has overseen an impressive improvement in form recently so all is not lost quite yet.
Derby are hoping to take advantage of Rooney's connection to Man Utd in order to land Amad on loan.
