Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski picked up The Best FIFA Men's Player award for 2021 in Zurich on Monday evening – and the voting for the prestigious prize has now been revealed.

The Bayern Munich hitman claimed the honour for the second time in a row, beating Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to the prize.

It has now been revealed who some of football’s biggest stars voted for.

Who did Ronaldo vote for?

Manchester United hero Cristiano Ronaldo voted for eventual winner Lewandowski in first place, N’Golo Kante in second and another Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, in third.

Lionel Messi could perhaps be accused of favouritism after he voted for club teammates Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in first and second, respectively. The Argentine have his third place vote to Karim Benzema.

Who did Salah vote for?

Mohamed Salah took bronze in the race for FIFA’s Best Player and he voted for Chelsea and Italy hero Jorginho in first place. His second and third picks went to Messi and Lewandowski, respectively.

Who did Lewandowski vote for?

As for Lewandowski himself, the Pole also voted for Jorginho as his best player, with Messi and Ronaldo second and third respectively.

In total, Lewandowski received 48 points when all the votes from national team captains, coaches, media and supporters were added together.

Second place Messi picked up 44 points and Salah claimed 39 points.

Lewandowski enjoyed another prolific year with Bayern, notably scoring 41 goals in just 29 Bundesliga matches during the 2020/21 campaign. Already in 2021/22, he has netted 34 times in only 26 games, making him the game's most prolific goalscorer.
