Manchester United aren’t going anywhere fast under Ralf Rangnick and as such it seems almost certain that a new manager will pick up the reins at Old Trafford in the summer.

The Premier League giants are undoubtedly in need of a clean slate and some fresh ideas at the club next season and while Rangnick is doing his best, the German tactician was seemingly always hired with the intention of moving upstairs into a more administrative role come the summer.

As such, a new manager will be needed and for some time now the no.1 candidate for the job has been none other than Mauricio Pochettino.

Although the Argentine’s spell at Paris Saint-Germain isn’t exactly going to plan, Pochettino still has plenty of credit left in the bank in the eyes of Man Utd supporters because of what he achieved at Tottenham Hotspur.

However, while fans may be clamouring to bring the former Spurs boss to Old Trafford they should be careful what they wish for.

Pochettino may bring all sorts with him to Old Trafford, but his arrival could spell the end for Cristiano Ronaldo at the club.

How Pochettino may force Ronaldo out of Man Utd

The problem with Pochettino’s arrival at Man Utd is that it will almost certainly bring with it new players. And new players have a habit of taking the place of old ones.

That certainly seems to be the major threat to Ronaldo, who has re-established himself as Man Utd’s first-choice No.9.

However, according to the Telegraph, the Argentine manager will demand that the Old Trafford club make Tottenham striker Harry Kane their no.1 transfer target in the summer transfer window.

Should Kane arrive, he’ll almost certainly dislodge Ronaldo from his No.9 spot and potentially the first team entirely.

Which, as we all know, simply won’t do for a player that doesn’t seem capable of ageing or taking time off.
