Marcus Rashford shouldn't be so hasty in wanting to leave Manchester United, in the opinion of former Old Trafford star Dimitar Berbatov.

The England international is reportedly unsettled at the club as he has found things tough under caretaker manager Ralf Rangnick.

Rashford missed the first couple of months of the season after recovering from shoulder surgery, but would make his way back into first team plans under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After Solskjaer's dismissal, Rashford's form suffered which led to him being in and out of the team under Rangnick.

He has started just nine games in the Premier League this season and 14 in all competitions, scoring five goals.

Last weekend he was left out of the starting XI for the Manchester derby which is the third league game in a row he has been on the bench.

It was following that game that reports emerged that Rashford is now considering his future at his boyhood club.

Should Rashford leave Man Utd?

However, he has been given cause for optimism from Berbatov, who believes Rashford should remain patient to try and impress any new Man Utd manager that might be appointed.

"It was strange that Marcus Rashford did not start the Manchester derby, especially with United missing Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani," the Bulgarian told Betfair.

"It’s understandable that Rashford wants to start games and, if he’s still not being picked by the end of the season, I’d expect him to be considering his future at the club.

"But he needs to remember that there will be another manager in charge next season and players who haven’t had a look in under Rangnick will get another chance.

"So it’s a bit too soon for Rashford to be thinking about leaving for another club.’
