Jurgen Klopp signs new Liverpool contract until 2026
Liverpool have confirmed that manager Jurgen Klopp has extended his contract at Anfield, keeping him at the club until 2026.
Klopp and his backroom staff had a deal at Liverpool set to expire in 2024, but they have agreed to extend their stay for a further two years.
It had been expected that Klopp would leave Liverpool following the expiration of his contract, but this announcement has put those rumours to bed.
Klopp even indicated back in March that once his contract expired in 2024 he would say: "That will be me, thank you very much."
However, the club have issued an official statement confirming that Klopp has agreed to prolong his stay at Anfield.
This is the third contract extension Klopp has signed during his time at the club. He had previously signed a six-year deal in 2016 and extended that further in December 2019.
It means his spell at the club will surpass 10 years by the time his new contract expires.
We are delighted to announce Jürgen Klopp has signed a new contract to extend his commitment with the club! 🔴

What trophies has Klopp won at Liverpool?
During Klopp's time in charge at Liverpool, they have won five major trophies, including the Premier League for the first time in the club's history in the 2019/20 season.
The German manager took charge of Liverpool back in October 2015 after the sacking of Brendan Rodgers.
Klopp has taken the Anfield side back to the very top of English football after a period of inactivity near the summit of the table. He arrived following the sale of talisman Luis Suarez and lost Philippe Coutinho in January 2018. Just months after Coutinho left, Klopp guided Liverpool to the Champions League final, although they lost to Real Madrid. They subsequently won the competition the year after.
Following their Champions League victory, they won the UEFA Super Cup and World Club Cup.
This season the Reds have already won the League Cup, after beating Chelsea on penalties in the final, and could yet win a historic quadruple with three competitions left up for grabs.
