Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists the club will not take part in any bidding war for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer.

Haaland is likely to be at the centre of a massive transfer battle at the conclusion of the current season.

Over the last 12 months, every elite side in Europe has been linked with the Norwegian including Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich as well as Liverpool.

Haaland has emerged as the hottest property in the transfer market in that time, and will reportedly be allowed to leave if a release clause of €75 million is triggered.

However, it is believed that the overall outlay on the player will be closer to €350m due to he and his agent's salary and bonus demands.

It is outrageous numbers like that which has led to Klopp confirming Liverpool will not try and buy the player.

“We won't be going there,” the Liverpool boss told SportBild.

“The numbers involved are just crazy – we'll be having nothing to do with it. No chance!

“To be honest, I don't want anything to do with it. It's not fun.”

Who will sign Haaland?

At the moment, the two clubs allegedly leading the race to sign Haaland are Real Madrid and Man City.

Real Madrid are planing on signing Kylian Mbappe as a free agent this summer, but club president Florentino Perez is keen on pairing the duo together as part of a new Galactico project.

Should Mbappe sign an unlikely new deal with PSG, then Madrid will go all-out for Haaland.

As for Man City, they desperately attempted to sign Harry Kane in the summer of 2022 only to pull away from negotiations due to Tottenham's asking price.

In terms of a transfer fee at least, Haaland will be half the price, and he could end up at the Etihad.
