Ralf Rangnick's side were 1-0 down at the time following Luis Diaz's early opener, with Pogba limping around the pitch for much of the early stages.

The injury appeared to be to Pogba's leg, with the French midfielder hobbling off the pitch to be replaced by Jesse Lingard, another star set to leave the club this summer, although there was no major collision on the pitch to cause Pogba's problem.

The former Juventus player took up a place on the bench following his substitution, and depending on the severity of the injury it may be the last time he features for the Old Trafford side.

Pogba first joined Man Utd back in 2009, and re-joined the team for a world record fee back in 2016 following an impressive spell at Juventus. However, he hasn't been able to help Man Utd to the top of English football and with his contract expiring this summer, he is expected to leave the club.

Pogba's last Man Utd outing?

He has reportedly agreed a deal with PSG and some Man Utd supporters have expressed their anger towards the 2018 World Cup winner.

Pogba seemed deflated during his time on the pitch against Liverpool and while his injury may have caused that, he strolled around the pitch unlike the busy midfield Jurgen Klopp had selected.

With just a few weeks left of his Man Utd career, it seemed as Pogba had resigned to defeat to Liverpool as well as to his fate of departing the club.

Upon leaving the pitch against Liverpool there was considerable dissatisfaction heard from the away Man Utd supporters, which comes just days after similar events took place at Old Trafford.

Pogba was the subject of boos and chants by large sections of the home crowd in the 3-2 win over Norwich, and responded by cupping his ears to the supporters when leaving the field at full-time.

Pogba seemed to encourage the abuse hurled at him and rile up his home fans. With his exit pending, he won't be leaving on good terms with the supporters who only want to see their team show effort.

Much-maligned for his languid style of play, Pogba hasn't helped his reputation amongst the Man Utd faithful in recent days, and leaving the field early against the dominant Liverpool won't have helped.
