Marcus Rashford hit a low at Manchester United on Saturday when he was left on the bench in a 1-1 draw against Leicester.

With Cristiano Ronaldo unavailable because of illness, it would have been logical for Rashford to fill a role in attack.

The England international might have been introduced in the second half, but while he produced a couple of fleeting moments of promise, he was largely peripheral in the match.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville commented in his role as a pundit for Sky Sports: "We spoke about Harry Maguire coming out of a bit of a tough period, but Marcus Rashford is having a massive low. To not be in that Manchester United team today is saying something.

"To play without a centre-forward at home against Leicester when he has had a couple of weeks break is a big decision by Ralf Rangnick."

Rashford’s future at Man Utd has been in question for months due to his prolonged lack of form, yet his spot with the Red Devils now looks more vulnerable than ever – especially as Rangnick is likely to have a major say in the transfer policy this summer.

Nevertheless, rumours that he may be given a new deal persist.

If he was to be sold, then, how much could Man Utd expect to fetch for him?

According to FootballTransfers’ algorithm, Rashford is worth around £54 million (€64m). This figure is reached by using hundreds of in-game data points and external factors such as strength of the selling club and length of time left on contract.

There is a margin for error in this figure, with the top end of Rashford’s value considered to be £67m and the bottom end just £40m.

Rashford’s contract is up in June 2023, so Man Utd and the player will need to make a decision over his future relatively soon.
