Marcus Rashford looking for fresh start under Erik ten Hag
Marcus Rashford has not had his finest season, but is looking forward to working with incoming coach Erik ten Hag and making a fresh start under the Dutch manager.
The forward has scored only five goals across all competitions this season, which would be the worst return of his career thus far and has been relegated to a second-choice role this campaign.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Rashford has accepted that he is not an important part of Rangnick’s plans but will seek clarity as to what his role is when Ten Hag takes over at the start of next season.
Rashford looking forward to next season
While remaining professional and training regularly under Rangnick, it is believed he is already looking forward to the new chapter under Ten Hag.
The season has been a difficult one, and even though he has contributed with some important goals, Rashford will be looking to the end of it.
His recent displays have attracted plenty of criticism, and just like most of the Manchester United squad, he has played like a player out of confidence.
There were high expectations for Rashford at the start of the campaign as he came back from surgery on persisting injuries from previous seasons under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He managed over 20 goals in each of the last two campaigns while playing with nagging injuries, but hasn’t been able to replicate that form in this campaign and is set to end it with a goals tally lower than that from his debut campaign in 2015-16, when he made his debut in February.
Since making his debut in that campaign, Rashford has scored 93 goals for Manchester United in 302 appearances, but his time has often been hindered by the inconsistency in management.
He has played under several managers in that time, ranging from Louis van Gaal to Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer to Rangnick now and is set to have Ten Hag in a few months’ time.
