Declan Rice contract: How much is West Ham’s offer for Man Utd & Chelsea-target?
West Ham are set to offer Declan Rice a bumper contract in a bid to ward of interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. How much will they pay the England midfielder?
Rice has blossomed into one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since making his West Ham debut in 2017, and this season ranks in the 90th percentile league-wide for interceptions, pass completion and progressive carries.
Rice’s current deal at the London Stadium runs until 2024, and coach David Moyes previously said that it would take a bid of £150 million for the club to consider parting ways with the fulcrum of their team.
🗣 “Who was the journalist that put it out?”

The Mirror report that similarly astronomical sums could be put to Rice in order to tempt him to stay.
“West Ham United have reportedly offered Declan Rice a new eight-year contract as they try to keep the England international at the club this summer,” they wrote.
“Additionally, the Hammers are willing to pay him around £200k-per-week, making him by far their highest-paid player.”

That would work out at £10.4m per year, putting Rice on a par with Mo Salah, Harry Kane and Thiago Alcantara league-wide. The Hammers could have another ace up their sleeve, though – Rice is a hometown boy who enjoyed their run to the Europa League semi-finals this season.
“We’ve proved that we can play in big European games and our fans and our stadium have shown we can handle those big European nights, and that's what we want more of,” he said.
“I’m proud of the lads because we're not the biggest of squads, so to go week in, week out again and again and again, training and playing Thursdays and Sundays, away from home and away from families has been tough, but in the end we’ve had a great year and we’re ready to go again.”
