Romelu Lukaku has fallen massively out of favour at Chelsea, and his second spell at Stamford Bridge hasn’t gone according to plan.

The Belgian has scored just five league goals, and 12 across all competitions in 40 appearances and seemingly isn’t in manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

Most recently against Everton, Lukaku was on the bench and didn’t step on the pitch, further highlighting his role in the squad, and he could be on the move again this summer.

Here are four clubs that he could move to as he hopes to end his Chelsea spell.

4. Real Madrid

Real Madrid have been linked with several forwards over the last few months, with Kylian Mbappe the most likely to arrive in the summer.

Other than that, Erling Haaland’s name has been mentioned, while Lukaku has been seen as an alternative, according to reports in Spain.

A move will be complicated, though, as it’ll be hard to justify spending a huge amount of money when Karim Benzema is playing the best football of his career.

3. Bayern Munich

Contract negotiations with Robert Lewandowski haven’t been progressing as well as Bayern Munich would’ve liked – the club say it’s ongoing, but rumours still linger about a move for the Pole.

That could open the door for Bayern to look for options elsewhere in case Lewandowski does leave, and Lukaku could be their man.

The obstacle, of course, will be the fee – the club have previously said they wouldn’t spend massively on players.

2. Tottenham

The idea of Chelsea selling a player to Tottenham seems strange, but this may be something Tottenham may be interested in because of their manager.

Lukaku played the best football of his career in the two seasons he was under Antonio Conte at Inter, winning the Serie A title in 2021.

If Spurs lose either of Harry Kane or Son Hueng-min, Lukaku would be a worthwhile replacement, and he would reunite with a manager that was able to get the best out of him.

1. Inter

This is the most obvious choice – even after leaving, Lukaku has spoken highly of the club, and it seems like the destination he most wants to return to.

He formed an excellent partnership with Lautaro Martinez while he was there, and as mentioned, won the league in 2021.

Just like other moves, though, this would be one complicated by the financial side of things, and getting Lukaku could be difficult.
