Sadio Mane has left Liverpool after six years at the club, having been a big part of one of the most successful periods of their history.

The Senegalese international made it clear to the club that he wished to go, and now a move to Bayern Munich has been confirmed.

Over the course of his Liverpool career, Mane scored 120 goals in 269 appearances, winning one Premier League, one Champions League, one FA Cup and one League Cup each.

With that, here’s a look at his best moments in a Liverpool shirt over the years.

Debut game

Mane’s debut for Liverpool came in an exciting clash against Arsenal, which they won 4-3 at the Emirates Stadium back in August 2016.

There were doubts over Mane’s signing when Liverpool paid a big fee for him over the summer, but it didn’t take the Senegalese long to make his mark.

He scored a stunning solo goal, driving in from the right and launching a powerful shot into the net, which contributed to the win and the start of a special relationship between player and club.

Derby goal

Mane’s Liverpool career was still in its infancy when this moment happened, as Liverpool travelled to Goodison Park to face rivals Everton in a league clash.

Liverpool were dominant throughout, but were struggling to get the ball in the net as time was running out, with a draw looking the likely outcome.

Then, in the 94th minute as a goalless draw was on the horizon, Mane popped up and made himself an immediate hero with a dramatic late winner.

Champions League redemption

In just his second season at the club, Mane played and scored in the Champions League final, but Liverpool fell short against Real Madrid as they lost 3-1.

A season later, Mane was in superb form domestically and in Europe, as Liverpool went all the way, beating Tottenham in the final in Madrid and winning their sixth Champions League title.

Mane had a crucial role to play, and his best moment was his goal against Bayern Munich, where he dinked the ball into the net after beating Manuel Neuer.

Golden Boot

In the same season, Liverpool were fighting to win the league title, going all the way until the end against a dominant Manchester City, who were chasing a domestic quadruple.

The Senegalese was in the best goalscoring form of his career, as he netted 22 goals, which meant he was the league’s joint top scorer alongside team-mate Mohamed Salah and Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Such was his form that season that he finished fourth in the running for the Ballon d’Or in 2019, behind Lionel Messi, Virgil van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo.

League winner

This is arguably his biggest achievement, as Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for a league title, winning the championship in dominant fashion.

Mane was in top form again, netting 18 goals across the league campaign and forming a solid forward trident with Salah and Roberto Firmino.

Even though there were other achievements across Mane’s time, this one ranks highest because of what it meant, and how they ended a long drought.
