When will Erling Haaland make his Man City debut?
Manchester City completed the signing of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer in a bid to improve their attack and retain their Premier League title next season.
The Norwegian forward moves to the Etihad Stadium on the back of a fine season where he scored 29 goals in 30 matches, despite injuries troubling him for portions of the campaign.
He left Dortmund with a fine record of 86 goals in 89 appearances, out of which 62 goals came in the Bundesliga, prompting some of Europe’s elite clubs to chase his signatures.
Manchester City made the move, paying a fee of £51 million, with more fees going to his agent in a deal that’s expected to be worth £85 million.
When will Haaland make his first appearance for Man City?
All eyes are now on when Haaland will make his first appearance in a City shirt and kickstart his career with Pep Guardiola’s side next season.
That chance is likely to come in the United States, as Manchester City head across the pond for a series of friendlies ahead of the start of the season.
They face Mexican side Club America as part of their US Tour on 21 July – their first pre-season fixture – before facing Bayern Munich three days later.
The Citizens will then return to England as they hope to win their first trophy of the season against Liverpool, taking on the Reds in the Community Shield at the King Power Stadium, in what could be Haaland’s first competitive game.

Haaland and City won’t have a long rest after that – City open their Premier League title defence in the week after with a trip to West Ham United’s London Stadium, which could be Haaland’s league debut.
That’s followed by the visit of newly-promoted Bournemouth, in what will be Haaland’s home debut at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.
Fans can expect Haaland to make his Champions League debut for Manchester City on 6 September 2022, as the European campaign kicks off earlier this season to accommodate the winter World Cup.
