The truth hurts! Man Utd NEED to keep Sir Alex Ferguson away

Manchester United chief executive Richard Arnold has called upon legendary ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson for advice.
Arnold has put together a team of Ferguson, former CEO David Gill, ex-captain Bryan Robson and football director John Murtough, according to the Daily Mail, in order to draw on their experience of winning ways at Old Trafford.
PREMIER LEAGUE DONE DEALS THIS SUMMER
This will see Ferguson given the most influence on the club since he stepped down from his managerial post in 2013.
He has been on the United board in that time, but as more of a gesture to his greatness than anything else.

In the first of the team's meetings, Cristiano Ronaldo's future was reportedly discussed; Ferguson has an excellent relationship with the 37-year-old.
These meetings are set to take place somewhat regularly, with Arnold taking advice from the man who brought 38 trophies to the club in a remarkable 26 years in charge.
It begs the question: why wouldn't you want Sir Alex's advice? Well, here's why:

Sir Alex Ferguson is the greatest manager in English football history. But that does make him qualified to have a position on the club's board nearly a decade down the line.
Just like when great players fail to make it as great managers, Diego Maradona, Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne, as well as United legends Bobby Charlton and Roy Keane, great managers can fail to make great board members.
Unfortunately, Ferguson comes under that category - highlighted by last summer's signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, and this summer's attempts to keep him around.

Ronaldo is not the man to take United forward - Ferguson should've known that. But the bigger issue is that the decision to keep him, or not, should be entirely Erik ten Hag's.
The Red Devils must make sure that the new manager isn't undermined by the influence of Sir Alex.
So indeed, it is time for the 80-year-old to call it a day, and to let Ten Hag take the reigns.
The longer that Manchester United try to return to the winning ways of the past, the longer they will wait until the winning ways of the future.
