‘The perfect start’ – Arsenal fans react to Gabriel Jesus’ debut double against Nurnberg
Gabriel Jesus stole the show during his Arsenal debut against Nurnberg in a 5-3 friendly victory.
The Brazil international attacker only came on at half-time but bagged a double and was extremely active as the Gunners came from behind to claim a thrilling victory. Having trailed 2-0 at the break, they appeared set to start pre-season on a low note, yet Gabriel Jesus transformed the feeling of their team immediately by netting a brace.

Both goals were fine finishes in their own right. His first was arguably the more impressive as he gained possession in midfield before exchanging passes and firing into the net from a tight angle. The second was a superb striker’s finish as he ran across his marker before flicking a shot into the top corner of the goal.
After a season in which they were turgid in front of goal, it was a welcome relief for the Emirates club to see their new £45 million signing from Manchester City make such a positive start to the game.
Little wonder, then, that their fans were so excited to see the 25-year-old attacker thrive.

So is Gabriel Jesus the saviour that Arsenal have long been waiting for? It's too early to know yet, but this was certainly a start full of promise.
