Ronaldo: How Atletico Madrid can sign Man Utd superstar
Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear he wants to leave Manchester United this summer, and is still adamant on it, despite being rejected by several clubs.
News came out about Ronaldo’s willingness to leave in June, and although United’s position is that they don’t want to sell, the player himself has been offered to multiple clubs.
Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all denied the opportunity to sign Ronaldo, while others such as Napoli and Sporting may not be able to afford the high financial operation.
However, there is another option open for Ronaldo, and it comes in the form of an old rival who he has tormented several times in the past: Atletico Madrid.
Simeone a fan of Ronaldo
According to reports in Spain, Diego Simeone is a fan of the player and sees his signing as one that could improve the team’s mentality, similar to what Luis Suarez offered in 2020.
However, a move won’t be easy, as other clubs have learned, as the La Liga side would have to fork out a large amount to pay his wages and transfer fee.
The cost involved may require the Colchoneros to sell at least two strikers first and make up about €40 million in sales before they can buy Ronaldo.

Atleti will be looking to improve the quality in their squad, following a relatively poor season last time around, as they failed to defend their La Liga title and struggled to secure Champions League qualification.
Should they sign Ronaldo, it would be one of the more controversial transfers in recent times, given the Portuguese forward’s long history with rivals Real Madrid.
Ronaldo is Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer – with many of his goals coming against Atletico Madrid in both La Liga and the Champions League.
Options are reducing for Ronaldo as he hopes to secure a move away, with a stay at Manchester United looking more and more likely with each passing day.
