Liverpool had a busy start to the transfer window, brining in players like Darwin Nunez from Benfica and Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen, but things have quietened since.

The club have been adamant that their transfer business is complete, but there could be a few swaying factors that could invite them to spend a bit more.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost Sadio Mane this summer, and identified Nunez as a replacement, while other players such as Takumi Minamino have also gone.

Still, Klopp has been clear that they will go into the season with the team as it is right now, unless there are changes that force his hand.

Klopp speaks on Liverpool transfer business

The German boss has been speaking about his squad: “Unless we have injuries or player sales no, we have our squad. Hopefully, there won't be any so Liverpool supporters can focus on other things."

Liverpool also completed the renewal of Mohamed Salah earlier in the summer, which was one of their priority aims for the window in order to avoid losing him for free next year.

Klopp was also asked about business completed by Liverpool’s rivals, and he downplayed his team’s chances for the upcoming season, adding that his priority was to make the Champions League.

"I cannot say the others have so far made a massive mistake in the transfer market. Everybody has the same chance. We will try to give it out all.

“The main target in this league first and foremost always is to qualify for the Champions League which is really difficult enough already.”

Liverpool finished second last season in the Premier League in a title race that went down to the final day of the season, while also losing the Champions League final.

They won the two domestic cup competitions, and were close to securing a historic quadruple, but were unable to get it done at the final stages of either competition.

The Reds kick off their league campaign with a trip to Fulham on 6 August, but their competitive season starts next week, when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield.
