Arsenal and Liverpool learn Yeremy Pino transfer fee
Arsenal are closing in on a transfer for Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino, who would arrive as one of the most exciting signings in the whole of the Premier League this summer.
Pino has impressed over the last two seasons in Spain’s top flight and, despite only being 19, has already won international honours for his country.
Having already captured the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksander Zinchenko from Manchester City, as well as Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira, it has been an impressive summer window from Arsenal, which could be topped off by the arrival of talented attacker Yeremy.
However, CBS Sports reporter and transfer expert Ben Jacobs writes for FootballTransfers that Liverpool could provide late competition.
Arsenal and Liverpool in for Pino
Arsenal will be busy in the market. We’re hitting that stage of the window where one or two go and suddenly you try and bring in an extra bit of business. Unlike some of the links, there’s more substance to Jeremy Pino.
The fee will be over €40 million and the 19-year-old is an excellent talent. Let’s not forget Marquinhos in terms of younger players has also joined as well.
I think the likelihood is that there is substance to this move has increased in the last few days so it’s one to watch between now and the end of the window.
Villarreal would probably have to accept a deal in the mid-40s, his release clause is more like €67m, but Villarreal are not in the healthiest financial position and that’s why I think if an offer arrives they’ll almost have to sell. That opens the door from Arsenal’s perspective.
Liverpool have been linked as well and they do their business very silently and privately so you can never rule them out entering the race.
It’s a necessity move. Unai Emery doesn’t want to sell the player but Villarreal just have to cash in and take the fee if it’s offered.
There’s definitely interest in this one and I’d expect it to escalate over the course of the next seven days.
Yeremy is a fantastic player with a huge amount of potential. He’s technically gifted, he’s intelligent, he’s got great control over his passing and instinctive movement off the ball.
He’s certainly one to watch from Arsenal’s perspective.
