Tielemans, Tonali & Caicedo on Arsenal's midfield radar
Arsenal's search for a new central midfielder has taken another turn, with reports the Gunners are looking at Leicester City's Youri Tielemans, AC Milan's Sandro Tonali and Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo.
The former has been pursued by Arsenal since January, with a deal previously expected to be completed as soon as the summer transfer window opened.
However, Tielemans remains a Leicester player despite interest from Arsenal, and Manchester United, but that may not be the case by the time Deadline Day comes around.
According to Sacha Tavolieri, Arsenal are preparing to make a second bid for the Belgium international after seeing a first offer turned down by the Foxes.
Tielemans has stayed on Arsenal's radar all summer, with Mikel Arteta reportedly giving the deal the green light to go ahead. The Spaniard has used Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey in Arsenal's opening three Premier League fixtures, but with a busy schedule coming up, it's felt that depth is of vital importance.
That reason is why Wolves' Pedro Neto is also being targeted, alongside Villarreal star Yeremy Pino, who has also been linked with a move to the Emirates this summer.
Tielemans not Arsenal's only target
While Tielemans is deemed the first-choice option for Arsenal, the Gunners' search for a new central midfielder is not just limited to the former AS Monaco man.
The report from the aforementioned Tavoleiri details that Tonali and Caicedo are also on Arsenal's radar as they look to improve their squad. The Ecuadorian Caicedo has impressed in the Premier League since joining Brighton and has also been linked with a move to Man Utd, the club who targeted him before he landed at The Amex Stadium.
As for Tonali, he has a contract at San Siro until 2026 and with Franck Kessie leaving for Barcelona this summer, plucking him from Milan would be a tough task.
