When will Casemiro be unveiled as a Man Utd player?
Manchester United have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for the transfer of Casemiro from the Santiago Bernabeu to Old Trafford this summer.
The move is now subject to personal terms, UK visa requirements and a medical, with a few steps left to be completed before Casemiro can officially be unveiled and announced as a Man Utd player.
The Brazilian will sign a four-year deal at Old Trafford, with an option of a further year, and Casemiro is reportedly aware that he is taking a step back sporting wise by joining Man Utd, but he wants to take the club back to their former glories.
The signing of Casemiro has ended Man Utd's pursuit of Frenkie de Jong for this transfer window, but it's been reported that they may come back in for the Dutchman at a later date.
It's believed that Man Utd have been working on a deal to sign Casemiro for a little while, but acted slowly rather than rushing negotiations as they knew the Brazilian was interested in joining Erik ten Hag's side.
After two Premier League games, Man Utd sit rock bottom of the table after suffering back-to-back defeats against Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford. Casemiro will become the club's fourth summer signing when he officially joins Man Utd, following Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Christian Eriksen in joining the Red Devils during their transfer window.
The fee being paid Real Madrid is a reported initial £60 million (€70m), with a further £10m (€12m) in add-ons. As a result, Casemiro will become Man Utd's sixth most expensive signing of all-time when the deal is officially confirmed. However, if those add-ons are met he will become the club's fifth most expensive ever addition, overtaking Angel Di Maria.
