Chelsea have been the Premier League's biggest spenders this summer and the club are looking to offset some of the cash they've splashed by offloading some of their fringe players.

Timo Werner became the first Chelsea player of the window to be sold permanently for a fee, joining Leipzig for an initial fee of €20 million and many more players could follow the German out of the Stamford Bridge door.

The Blues are still looking to continue spending on the likes of Wesley Fofana and Frenkie de Jong and outgoings are essential in order to raise funds and lower the wage bill.

With the agenda shifting to sales, FootballTransfers takes a look at five players who may leave Chelsea before the window closes in a few weeks.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Kepa Arrizabalaga became the most expensive goalkeeper of all time when he joined Chelsea in 2018 for £71.6m but the Spaniard has made just 11 league appearances in the past two years after an error-prone career so far.

The 27-year-old's market value has plummetted and the Blues are looking to get Kepa off the wage bill, meaning he could leave on loan, with Napoli retaining the strongest interest in him.

Ross Barkley is one player who is almost certain to be heading for a Chelsea exit after entering the final year of his contract and being left without a squad number.

With Chelsea looking to cut down the numbers in their squad, Barkley could find himself unregistered and is likely to be allowed to leave for a nominal fee, with the likes of Celtic being linked to sign him.

Hakim Ziyech

While Chelsea are still keen on signing a forward, winger Hakim Ziyech may be allowed to leave after failing to hold down a regular first team spot in the team.

The Morrocan winger has started just 29 league games in two years for Chelsea and has been linked with a move to Milan as well as Manchester United.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was once highly-rated at Chelsea but the midfielder's injury problems have seen him fall down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge and he could leave in search of first-team football.

However, his departure has been complicated by his Covid vaccination status, leaving some clubs reluctant to sign him, meaning he may be forced to stay at Chelsea, particularly due to his high wages.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Another academy graduate searching for first team football is Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the 21-year-old desperate for a run of games to prove his fitness after an injury-plagued last few seasons.

The winger was once a £70m target for Bayern Munich but made just 15 appearances in the league last season and he could depart on loan, with a host of Premier League teams reportedly interested.
